Power shortage and power outage are common things in most business establishments and even in your own household. Generators have now become a common thing. There are primarily two types of generators, standby and portable generators. A standby generator is usually used for households as a back up source of electricity. Standby generators can be tap into a gas line while a portable is a smaller unit that can be comfortably used in campgrounds.

Honda Power Equipment offers a line of portable generators that consumers can choose from. Honda generators are compact and fuel-efficient. There are different Honda generator models that provide smooth and clean power mainly used for construction, rental, emergency and home use.

The Honda EU2000i Generator, one of the better models of Honda generators, highlights the inverter technology that is newly integrated in the product. Quiet operation is also guaranteed because of its minimized noise level feature. Honda EU2000i is an inverter – equipped 2000 (Watts) unit. It is perfectly designed as a source of electricity for most home electronics such as the telephone, printer, computer, fax machine and stereos.

EU2000i comes at only 46.3 lbs that makes it very portable. This model features a Honda Model OHV with a recoil start. One tank full guarantees four hours of rated run time. With the Eco-Throttle, it will run up to 15 hours on a single gas tank. This actually means 4 to 15 hours of operation mainly depending on its load.

Another thing that this generator includes is its receptacles – 20A 125V Duplex. It uses two household type receptacles. Note that 125V is equivalent to 110V standard household current. The unit features both an AC and DC terminal. DC voltage is available from a split receptacle that cannot be confused with the AC receptacles. The inverter technology used by this model generator produces a DC output whereas it could be used when charging 12–volt batteries.

The available power is normally used for the power tools like circular saw, full size microwave ovens and other kitchen appliances. In addition to that, Honda’s EU2000i generator has a rated frequency of 60 Hz (cycles), a shipping weight of 53 lbs, a cooling system of forced air and an engine speed of 3600 RPM. Other specification of this unit includes an Oil type of 10W – 30 and a Fuel type of 89 Octane unleaded gasoline.

Aside from an excellent easy way of operating this type of generator, the unit takes pride for the super low sound it produces. Honda has a more primary focus for its noise containment. At one- fourth load it produces 53 dB and 59 dB of sound with a rated full load at 7 meters.

Honda’s EU2000i has a single-cylinder, fully air-cooled plus a 4-stroke overhead cam engine. Its efficiency level allows an extremely smooth operation. Honda’s automatic compression release or ACR enables the generator to start in minutes. Its Eco–Throttle feature automatically upholds the engine speed. When the operational speed is maintained, all loads are kept in its most efficient level. This also offers an allowable 20 hours of continuous operation.

EU2000i ‘s Oil Alert is responsible for shutting off the unit when the oil drops below a safe operating level. This is also necessary for preventing any damage to the engine. To ensure safety, Honda integrated an AC circuit breaker that automatically switches off the engine in case of a short circuit. DC Terminals, on the other hand, are used for charging 12-volt automotive batteries. The Two–tiered Noise Dampening System of the generator is responsible for the engine to undertake an extremely quiet operation. In addition to all these features, it is both EPA and CARB certified. This particular Honda generator had passed and exceeded all EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and CARB (California Air Resource Board) standards.

The birth of Honda Inverter Technology’s generator breaks the incapability of linking in parallel two units in doubling the wattage through the generator outlets. Mating cable assemblies for two Honda EU2000i series means an increased power well for a larger tool. It works in smooth, clean power, and, of course, a minimized sound. Honda generators are known for their reliability. The company had developed quality generators and true enough, excellent benefits await the consumers of the EU2000i generator.
